If you are looking to update your employability skills enroll in one of our Career Pathway classes. Currently we are offering these Free Career Pathway classes:
Alabama Career Essentials MAPS
Alabama Career Essentials MAPS (ACE MAPS) is a FREE training course designed by the Alabama Community College System to provide eligible students with industry driven skills in career clusters that are in-demand in Alabama.
ACE MAPS graduates receive:
- 1 free credit class at Central Alabama Community College
- 4 general education credits for those enrolling in CACC credit-based programs
- An Alabama Certified Workers credential
- ACT WorkKeys certification
- MAPS certificate of completion
- Job placement assistance
- Assistance with college enrollment for credit or non-credit programs
- Access to scholarships for credit or non-credit programs
Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) Program
Our CBCS program, powered by Aztec Software, prepares students for a vital role in the healthcare system by teaching them how to manage health information and process medical billing and coding. This digital curriculum is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in medical administration.
Program Highlights:
- Prepares students for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) CBCS certification exam
- Covers essential topics such as medical terminology, health insurance, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and billing procedures
- Emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality in handling patient records
- Designed for flexible, self-paced learning
Graduates of this program are equipped to work in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, and insurance companies, ensuring accurate billing and coding practices that support quality patient care.
This course is available online; however, an in-person orientation is required.
Cost: Eligible participants can take the course and certification exam at no cost.
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
Our CCMA program, powered by Aztec Software, prepares students for a rewarding career in healthcare by equipping them with the skills needed to assist doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals. This comprehensive digital curriculum covers clinical procedures, patient care, and administrative tasks, making it ideal for those looking to enter the medical field.
Program Highlights:
- Prepares students for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) CCMA certification exam
- Covers vital topics such as medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, patient care, phlebotomy, ECG, and infection control
- Includes training in both clinical and administrative duties
- Designed for flexible, self-paced learning
Graduates of this program are well-prepared to work in a variety of healthcare settings, providing essential support and making a meaningful impact on patient care.
This course is available online; however, an in-person orientation is required.

ServSafe Food Handler Certification Program
The ServSafe Food Handler program provides essential training for anyone working in food service. Developed by the National Restaurant Association, this course teaches the basics of safe food handling and prepares participants to earn a nationally recognized certification.
Program Highlights:
- Covers key topics: Basic Food Safety, Personal Hygiene, Cross-Contamination & Allergens, Time & Temperature, and Cleaning & Sanitation
- Available online or in-person for flexible learning
- No prerequisites required—open to all skill levels
- Assessment includes 40 questions with a required passing score of 75%
- Certificate awarded upon successful completion
Cost:
Eligible participants can complete the course and exam at no cost.
This certification is ideal for individuals seeking employment in restaurants, cafeterias, catering, or any food service environment.
Note: WIOA financial assistance might be available for those who qualify.
