CACC Announces 2026 Chancellor’s Award Recipients

ALEXANDER CITY, AL — Central Alabama Community College (CACC) is proud to announce four employees who have been selected by their colleagues to represent the college as recipients of the 2026 Alabama Community College System (ACCS) Chancellor’s Awards.

The Chancellor’s Awards are among the highest recognitions within the Alabama Community College System and honor employees who demonstrate excellence, leadership, professional performance, and a strong commitment to student success and their institutions.

CACC’s 2026 Chancellor’s Award recipients are:

Administrator: Stephanie Miller, Director of Financial Aid

Support Staff: Jamie Thornton, Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Students and Student Life Coordinator

Academic Faculty: Wesley Talton, History Instructor

Technical Faculty: Dr. Robert Davis, Business Instructor and Division Chair

“These employees represent the dedication, professionalism, and commitment to student success that we value so highly at Central Alabama Community College,” said CACC President Jeff Lynn. “We are proud to have Stephanie, Jamie, Wes, and Rob represent CACC as our 2026 Chancellor’s Award recipients. Their contributions to our students, our college, and our communities are greatly appreciated.”

Stephanie Miller — Administrator
As CACC’s Director of Financial Aid, Miller plays an important role in helping students access the financial resources they need to pursue their educational goals. Her leadership has been especially valuable during a time of constant changes to federal and state financial aid regulations. She has successfully guided her team through these changes while continuing to provide students with accurate information, support, and exceptional service.

Jamie Thornton — Support Staff
As Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Students and Student Life Coordinator, Thornton provides support across Student Services while playing a key role in student engagement and campus activities. Her hard work and dedication have contributed to a substantial increase in opportunities for students to connect, get involved, and engage in campus life, helping create a stronger and more vibrant CACC community.

Wesley Talton — Academic Faculty
Talton serves as a History Instructor at CACC, where he is committed to student learning and success. For the past two years, he has also led CACC’s study-abroad program, providing students with opportunities to earn academic credit while gaining cultural and educational experiences abroad. Under his leadership, students have traveled to London and Paris, expanding their learning beyond the classroom through international experiences.

Dr. Robert Davis — Technical Faculty
Davis serves as a Business Instructor and Division Chair, providing both classroom instruction and academic leadership within his division. His work supports students pursuing their educational and career goals while contributing to the continued success of CACC’s academic programs.

The Chancellor’s Awards recognize employees from each institution within the Alabama Community College System who uphold high standards of professional performance and service. The recipients will be recognized during the Alabama Community College Association's (ACCA) Chancellor’s Awards Recognition Program on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa.

CACC congratulates Stephanie Miller, Jamie Thornton, Wesley Talton, and Dr. Robert Davis on this well-deserved recognition and thanks them for their continued dedication to CACC and its students.
