What Is Distance Education?

Distance education courses are delivered partially or entirely online, allowing students to complete coursework outside of a traditional classroom setting. CACC offers a range of course formats to fit different learning styles and schedules, including fully online courses, hybrid courses that combine online and in-person instruction, and web-enhanced courses that use online tools to support classroom learning.

Course Formats

Getting Started

New to online learning? Here's how to get started:

  1. Apply for admission to CACC, if you haven't already.
  2. Meet with an academic advisor to select courses that fit your program of study.
  3. Register for your distance education courses through your student portal.
  4. Access your courses through the college's learning management system once the term begins.

Technical Requirements

To succeed in an online course, students should have reliable access to a computer and high-speed internet connection, along with basic computer skills such as email, word processing, and web browsing. A webcam and microphone may be required for some courses.
