Central Alabama Community College (CACC) Celebrates Student Excellence During 2026 Honors Program
Alexander City, AL — Central Alabama Community College proudly celebrated student achievement during its 2026 Honors Program held on Sunday, April 26, on the Alexander City Campus. The event recognized students from across the college’s campuses for excellence in academics, leadership, service, athletics, innovation, and campus involvement.
The ceremony began with welcome remarks from President Jeff Lynn and featured recognition of numerous student accomplishments throughout the academic year.
Students recognized through CACC’s Mission 20 to the International Space Station (ISS) initiative included Noah White, Allie Scott, Benton Stegall, Adeline Benton, and Gracie Deason.
Students honored through Project MFG included 2024–2025 National Championship Finalists Jorge Soto-Rojas and Ashton Williams, along with 2025–2026 Regional Finalists Tristan Wood, Zane Williams, and Matt Cost.
Phi Theta Kappa honors included Rebekah Burton being named to the All-USA Academic Team and recognized as a New Century Scholar. Rebekah Burton and Noah White were also recognized as members of the All-Alabama Academic Team, while Noah White received recognition as a Hites Transfer Scholar.
Students recognized for the Distinguished College Project for Peer Tutoring included Kylie Davis, Rebekah Burton, Noah White, Chloe Russek, Luke Hanks, Joseph Mason, Kaylee Beatty, Camdyn Pressley, Susannah Wingard, and Jordan Coker. Kylie Davis, Rebekah Burton, Noah White, Chloe Russek, and Luke Hanks were also recognized through the Distinguished Chapter Officer Team Award.
Student of the Month recipients recognized during the ceremony included Shalunda Price, Romney Henry, Olvin Castillo, Rebekah Burton, Jenna Hurley, Aaron Lewis, Benjamin Taylor, Kennedy Potts, and Mae Meadows.
Athletic Excellence awards were presented to Russell Copous for Baseball, Logan Bese for Men’s Tennis, Colbie Horne for Women’s Tennis, and Easton Haworth for Golf.
Special recognition was also given to recipients of the Trojan Spirit Awards, which honor students demonstrating exceptional involvement in campus life. Recipients included Noah White (Alexander City), Angela Trucks (Childersburg), Jenna Keller (Prattville), and Breanna Reynolds (Talladega Center).
Trojan Service Awards recognized students who demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving both the college and the broader community. Recipients included Kylie Davis (Alexander City), Aaron Lewis (Childersburg), Mae Meadows (Prattville), and Jenna Hurley (Talladega Center).
Trojan Leadership Awards were presented to Rebekah Burton (Alexander City), Chase Price (Childersburg), Christian Kelley (Prattville), and Cheralyn “Niki” Bath (Talladega Center). Rebekah Burton was additionally recognized as the recipient of the Overall Trojan Leadership Award for her substantial contributions to Central Alabama Community College.
Throughout the ceremony, faculty and staff highlighted the students’ dedication, resilience, leadership, and commitment to making a positive impact both on campus and within their communities.
“As we celebrate these accomplishments, we are reminded that student success extends far beyond the classroom,” college representatives shared during the program. “These students exemplify leadership, service, perseverance, and academic excellence, and we are proud of the impact they continue to make across our campuses and communities.”
