Central Alabama Holds Off Wallace Hanceville for 9–7 Win

ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. — Central Alabama Community College built a six-run lead by the fifth inning and held on late to defeat Wallace State Community College 9–7 on Tuesday in a high-scoring matchup that featured 28 combined hits.
Central Alabama struck first in the opening inning when Parker McNeal doubled home a run. The Trojans added two more in the second on Levi Pinder’s solo home run and an RBI single from Holden Dean, then extended the lead in the third with a Wallace error and an RBI double by Ryder Hartin. Olin Ward added a solo shot in the fourth to help stretch the advantage.
Ezra Stanton earned the win, tossing 3⅔ scoreless innings while allowing one hit and striking out five. Ashton Ham started and worked a scoreless first, while Tanner Bartlett contributed a shutout relief inning. Kyle Duckwall closed the door to secure the save.
Ward led Central Alabama offensively with three RBIs, finishing 2-for-6. Ward, McNeal, Pinder, and Cameron Donohue each recorded two hits as the Trojans totaled 13. Wallace collected 15 hits, led by Cumming’s 4-for-5 performance.
Central Alabama returns to action Thursday when it hosts the Gordon State Highlanders.
