Central Alabama Community College recently received a scholarship donation from the Alexander City branch of River Bank & Trust, marking the beginning of a new partnership focused on supporting local students. Tallapoosa County President Randy Dawkins and Marketing Director Marcia Johnson visited campus to present the contribution and spend time with scholarship recipients Sherlyn Luna, Cade Newell, and Vivek Patel.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to talk with Dawkins and Johnson about how scholarship assistance helps offset the cost of college and allows them to stay focused on their coursework. College leadership also discussed future opportunities to continue working together to support students across the region.

“We appreciate River Bank & Trust’s willingness to invest in our students,” said CACC President Jeff Lynn. “Support like this helps students stay focused on their goals. We look forward to continuing our work with Randy, Marcia, and the River Bank & Trust team.”

Dawkins said the visit reinforced the value of supporting education at the local level.
“Spending time with the students and hearing directly from them put the importance of this support into perspective,” Dawkins said. “River Bank & Trust is committed to helping our communities grow, and partnering with CACC is a good fit. We’re glad to be able to support students as they prepare for the workforce.”

CACC and River Bank & Trust plan to continue working together to expand scholarship opportunities and strengthen connections within the Alexander City community.
