Lady Trojans Sweep Wallace-Dothan in ACCC Doubleheader

The softball team at Central Alabama Community College completed a conference doubleheader sweep of Wallace-Dothan Community College on Wednesday, winning 5–3 in game one before taking the nightcap 2–1.

In game one, Emma Gaither earned the win in the circle as the Lady Trojans held off Wallace-Dothan for a 5–3 victory. CACC jumped out early with a five-run first inning. Brooklyn Cochran recorded two hits and scored a run, while Olivia Brackner added two hits and an RBI to pace the offensive outburst.

The Lady Trojans secured the sweep in game two behind a complete-game performance from Kayden Tarvin, who allowed just one run on three hits.

Trailing 1–0 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Reagan Easterwood led off with a single and later scored two batters later on a pinch-hit RBI from Raina Zachary to tie the game. A.C. Thomas then delivered the go-ahead hit with a drive down the line that scored Morgan Spear, giving CACC the lead.

The Lady Trojans’ defense backed Tarvin in the final inning to shut down a potential Wallace-Dothan comeback.

With the sweep, CACC improves to 9–1 in ACCC conference play.

Next Game: March 14 at WSCC.
