Alexander City, Ala. – Central Alabama Community College (CACC) celebrated the completion of two new campus spaces with dual ribbon-cutting ceremonies at its Alexander City Campus. College leaders, community partners, faculty, staff, and students gathered to mark the official opening of the newly renovated library and the modernized 315-seat theater in the HEA Building.
The projects feature major interior upgrades and comprehensive student-focused improvements. They reflect CACC’s ongoing commitment to creating welcoming environments that support academic success and strengthen ties with the surrounding community.
The redesigned library facility now offers improved classrooms with beautiful campus views from large windows. Classrooms and labs with all new equipment are now home to chemistry, biology, math, and English departments. It also features student study zones and easier access to resources and student services. The centralized location allows students to naturally gather throughout the day, without being too far away from their next class, athletics event, or student life activity.
“The renovated library was designed specifically for CACC students and their daily path through campus,” said CACC Dean of Students Cindy Entrekin. “When learning and support services are closer together, students stay more connected and focused on reaching their goals.”
The HEA theater has also been fully reconditioned into a contemporary 315-seat venue. Equipped for concerts, guest speakers, student performances, and presentations, the new theater serves as a flexible gathering place that brings the campus and local community together. Partnerships with local groups like the Alex City Arts will bring new events and the local community to the Alexander City campus.
“This renovation is a win-win for our students and the Alexander City community,” added CACC President Jeff Lynn. “We are so excited to provide a first-class venue like this for community events and for our students who are interested in arts, music, and theater.”
The renovations underscore CACC’s commitment to improving the communities in which it serves. Prospective students, families, and community members are invited to experience these new spaces firsthand.
